Getting Down to the Wire

Are you about ready to get going, cowboy?

There are a few things I wanted to discuss.

We need to set a perscribed time to be in and be out. How long do you think will be sufficient? A week? A month? Less? More?

Also, I have suffered a little bit of an injury recently. I will not be able to fly for a while. Do you think your avatar can manage to protect me form the plant monster during our staged attack? I will not be as able to take care of myself as I would usually be for at least a few weeks. Do you feel comfortable with that?

Also, we need to solidify the backstory. Who is Tristan, where has he been, etc. I need to know what name you will be calling me so that I can respond to it properly. I will not be able to communicate verbally while in that form. If we need to communicate the best I can do is wink with my left eye for "yes" and my right eye for "no".

Can you think of anything else I am forgetting?

((ooc: With all of this hacking business I just wanted to say that if anyone intends to gain access to Strix's private entrees for whatever reason, please contact me via e-mail first.))

I'm ready and loaded.

I think at the most a month will be what we need. If we get the info faster than we are out there much earlier.

I'll protect you. Do not fear.

Have you ever read a book named Otherland? As we all come from different dimensions I think the premise of this story would be quite helpful for us. In the book there is an 'evil' brotherhood that uses children to get their own immortality in a VR environment. Tristan could be one of the individuals who tried to get access to the brotherhood's network, but instead of landing where all the other 'heroes' are he lands here. That sound good to you?

Would being called Princess in your bird form please you?

I believe your idea of communication will be sufficient. If push comes to shove we'll find a quiet corner and you can change back.

I cannot get very close to Asgard without them noticing me. In either my true form or my alt-form, the closest I can get without them thinking anything is amiss would be the center of the ghost town. And even there my car is easy to notice as there are no other cars around.

But don't worry, I'll always be within sensor range. So there is no chance of the holo disintegrating.

Good.

So we'll call it at a month at the very most. I'm okay with that.

I am not afraid, Jazz. There are just some extra things we need to take into account because of my...current disability.

You know, I almost think you are trying to push my buttons. Princess? Fine. But you better remember that I have a sharp beak, friend.

I know Otherland. That's kind of creepy, you know. How some things seem to previal through dimension. I mean, you're a gaint fucking sentient robot that would never exist in my world, and I'm a mythological monster, but in both our universes there is Otherland? Sheesh.

As long as we can count on the avatar's stability, I don't think we'll have a problem.

Every queen needs to have a her weapons sharp and well oiled. I never would have assumed you'd not be that way.

Yeah, strange things in a stranger land. Is the hero of Star Wars still Vader in your world?

Tristan will be stable. I'll make sure of that.

Queen? Alright, I get it. You're poking fun at me -_-'

Yar, Vader be the one. And Luke and his sister had that freaky sexual attraction thing going on for a while.

Some things are apparantly universal where ever you are. But your world has shrimp? I heard the world without shrimp is supposed to be a real hell to live in.

And why would I do that? I'm merely addressing you with the honorific a woman of your standing deserves.

Lol. Yeah, we have shrimp.

And don't think that smooth talking has any real effect on me, Jazz. I see straight through those robot motives of yours X D

And what are my motives, if I'm allowed to ask?

Eniterly no offence intended, Jazz. But you seem like the Seduce and Destroy type to me.

No offence created, Strix.

Maybe I am that, though I wonder how I became that way. There was a time when I would rather die than even think about these things.

Time is the crucible that makes us what we are. I am old, but you are older, yes? We both know that we do what we must.

All too true, my dear.

Though I am not that old. I'm not even thirty-six... you're counting time in cycles of 365 planet rotations, right?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

365 of my planet rotations.

That's what I meant. 365 rotations of planet Earth.

That's impossible. If you're not from Earth then that means you would have had to travel at least 6 light years to get here from any other system.

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]silverknight
2008-05-26 10:21 pm UTC (link)
Why is it impossible that I've traveled more than 6 lightyears?

If I remember right it was more than 54 parsec, though the actual distance could be smaller. We made a lot of not so short short-cuts on our way.

By the way, a Cybertronian 'year' is a bit more than 83 years. And we tend to number our living years in the thousands.

Six light years takes a long time to travel, is what I'm saying. Just to get here you would have to be much older than 36 earth years.

So are you 36 earth years, or 36 Cybertronian years? You have me confused now.

At the minimum I'd have to be older than 36 thousand of my years, because that is the age of my kid. We can count our age in the millions and still be considered young.

But it is these things that make time bearable. Right, dear goddess?

Wait, you have children too? How does that work for an inorganic species, if you don't mind me asking?

I know that my sons do indeed sometimes make my life bearable. Though at other times I'm surprised I haven't killed both of them just to reduce the amount of stress they cause me.

And don't goddess me, you hunk of scrap metal = p

Yes, we have the ability to create younger ones. Ever heard of something like a DNA based computer?

I know the feeling and multiply it by n because the remaing third of my triade has the habit of nuking my 'Bee's legs off. Some of these days I'll make Starscream learn that even though we shrug these kinds of injuries of like flies, it is still annoying to have your kid whine about needing a doc again.

As you wish, mon capitain.

I have heard of those. On my Earth they were only in the developmental stages, methinks. But does that mean you have DNA? Or is it related to the pattern of your spark (if there is one, I don't really know what I'm saying here).

Bee? Starscream? Who are these?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]silverknight
2008-05-28 11:53 pm UTC (link)
Yep, we have DNA. And yes, it is related to our sparks.

'Bee, better known as Bumblebee, is my kid. The ever cute bain of my young existence. And Starscream is one of the three individuals, myself included, that helped create Bumblebee.

We're triploid, you know.

How do you decide which three of you "make" a new one? Is the criteria emotional, physical, or what?

From what I know of higher evoled organics, the criteria are the pretty much the same as with us. Or are you not, in the least a tiny bit, in love when you decide to procreate?

No romance? No passion?

No steamy one-night stands one rather wants to forget but always remembers because it was so much better than what the 'husband' does?

No love?

That's sad, I think?

I have some things I need to put together before we leave. I should probably get to that instead of chatting the day away.

I send you a message over the comm. when I'm ready to go, and we can set up the 'attack' from there. Sound good?
